The Whitechapel Mission Website

At the Whitechapel Mission, we have been helping Londoners to help the homeless since 1876, meeting the specific needs of each man and woman who walks through our doors.

We believe that we need an Internet presence because:

  • Information about our organization can be available 24/7, 365 days a year.
  • It is our on-line brochure, reaching more people and is more cost effective than printed material.
  • Information is available across the world and not just locally.
  • We can update information quicker.
  • We can promote our services.
  • We have a quicker form of communication.

But, we don't have the money for a design company to put it together for us. We have made a promise to our supporters that we will not spend a single penny of their donation on administration or fund-raising.

20th February 2014 - our website was redesigned to be HTML5 compatible.

We rely upon our staff, volunteers and our supporters for design, content and images.

We try to:

  • update your site content and keep it fresh and current.
  • anticipate and answer our visitor's questions.
  • include our contact information.
  • create a clear and compelling message.
  • try to carefully check our content for spelling and grammar mistakes.

And you can trust us to:

  • ensure privacy and security for those using the site.
  • total transparency when it comes to information about the spending our your donations.
  • total transparency when it comes to governance and management decisions.

As a visitor to our site, we welcome your comments, both good and bad. Please contact us if you have any comments.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT - This site was established and is maintained by our own staff. We learned the hard way making mistakes and taking a lot of time. To help other nonprofit organizations avoid some of the problems and costs involved in establishing a web presence we are also pleased to offer technical advice to any not-for-profit body wishing to establish their own web site.

Todays Volunteers

We welcome volunteers from:
